"Siege server" gets used loosely, but two distinct traditions live under that label: destructive Factions-style raiding, and political, non-destructive siege warfare over land and treasuries. The best siege PvP servers in 2026 split cleanly along that line, so every entry below says which system it runs.
The bar for this list: a real war system that decides who wins a fight and what they take, not just PvP in the wilderness. Status was checked against each server's own site, wiki, code repository or a dated server-list ping in early October 2026.
Two Philosophies
Raiding (Classic Factions)
In FactionsUUID, a faction claims one chunk per point of power. Members gain power over time and lose it when they die, and once a faction's claims outnumber its power, enemies can break blocks inside its territory and claim land away from it. Some servers use Deaths 'til Raidable instead: every death ticks a counter down, and at zero the base can be raided and looted.
Sieges (Towny / SiegeWar-style)
This is the model on the SiegeWar servers below, and builds can't be griefed: towns cannot be damaged or stolen from during a siege. A nation's king or general plants a siege banner outside a town and pays into a war chest ($20 per plot by default). The siege is fought over seven one-hour battle sessions across a weekend, so players in different timezones can take part. Winning attackers can plunder the town ($40 per plot by default) or capture it into their nation. Nation capitals can't be captured, and a sieged town gets seven days of immunity afterwards (14 for capitals). Every number here is a config default, and servers change them. If you want Towny towns and nations without the sieges, our best Minecraft Towny servers list covers the servers built around them.
Diplomacy Only
The third option has no war plugin. On EarthMC, below, conflicts are usually settled through diplomacy, and nation pacts rule out PvP and overclaiming between two nations.
EarthPol: SiegeWar, Still Being Built
SiegeWar's own wiki credits EarthPol, alongside CCNet and DatBlock, with pioneering the system. EarthPol keeps a public fork of the plugin, and changes merged on September 28, 2026 added a /sw preference notifications toggle, after the team noted that SiegeWar accounted for roughly 80% of chat messages during a battle session.
Weakness: if you're not fighting, that siege traffic is noise. We couldn't load EarthPol's own docs, so its current map, version and siege values are unverified. Status (October 2026): its SiegeWar fork had changes merged on September 28, 2026; we couldn't verify server activity directly.
CCNet Nations: Sieges with Vehicles
Another server SiegeWar credits as a pioneer. CCNet Nations runs on a 1:1000 Earth map with over 20 types of naval, ground and aerial vehicles, plus artillery and guns in sieges. Politics go deep too: town and nation constitutions, government types, political parties and elections.
Weakness: it's quiet. A minecraftservers.org ping on October 2, 2026 showed 6 of 300 slots filled (one snapshot, not a trend). Status: online, listed on 26.2.
Mvndicraft: Medieval Sieges with Engines
A medieval server on a 1:200 map of Eurasia, running Towny with a heavily modified SiegeWar. Trebuchets, cannons, catapults, ballistae, Greek fire and siege ladders are all documented on its wiki, and boats can carry siege weapons. During battle sessions, attackers can scaffold into a besieged town and axe through doors and gates. Skill trees and RPG-style stats sit on top. It runs on 1.21.11 with no mods required. For more on the progression side, see our best Minecraft RPG servers.
Weakness: war runs on a fixed schedule, every two weeks on Saturdays and Sundays at 18:30 UTC. Status: its wiki was up in October 2026.
Emerald Earth: A Case Study, Status Unclear
It started on August 14, 2020, used Flag War, and switched to SiegeWar on September 6, 2021. It then cut siege length from 72 hours to 24 in September 2021 and moved to 48 in March 2022.
Weakness: instability. Its history log records several closures and reboots; the latest entries describe a June 2024 relaunch, and the page was last updated in November 2024. Status: we couldn't confirm 2026 activity.
EarthMC: Nation Politics, Without War
A geopolitical sandbox online since 2016, now on 1.21.11 with custom Folia-based software that lets up to 800 players share one world. Its map has reset three times: in 2018, 2022 and 2026. Its own drawbacks list is plain: there are no traditional wars, because tying progress to PvP gives cheat clients unfair leverage. Conflicts are usually settled through diplomacy, and a war system might be introduced in future. A nation pact costs 16g and prevents PvP, overclaiming, enemying or unallying between two nations, and each nation is limited to 10 allies.
Weakness: if you came for sieges, there are none. It's also hosted in Europe, so expect latency from far away. Status: alive.
MassiveCraft: Factions, Grown Up
Founded in 2011 and billed as "The Original Factions Server", MassiveCraft is the Factions-lineage pick. Its Factions mode now has Kingdoms and structured Sieges in which attackers and defenders fight over land, and players build siege bases. Factions that can't defend themselves can be absorbed into kingdoms.
Weakness: it's smaller than its history suggests. Its own counter showed 29 of 500 players online on October 2, 2026. Status: alive.
Mechanics Worth Knowing Before You Join
- Peaceful status: on SiegeWar servers, non-capital towns can opt out of sieges. Confirming takes 7 days (2 for new towns), residents can't hold military ranks, and the nation owning the largest non-peaceful town within 1,200 blocks can subvert (instantly capture) a peaceful town.
- Overclaiming: in Factions, a faction whose claims exceed its power can have land claimed away from it. EarthMC has overclaiming between nations too, and a nation pact rules it out between the two nations that sign it.
- Military ranks: on SiegeWar servers, only players with military ranks earn battle points.
- Siege zones: during a SiegeWar battle session, PvP protections switch off within 300 blocks of the banner. Dying there doesn't drop your gear, but it costs 5% durability.

Where MCRPG Fits
MCRPG, launching October 16, 2026, sits closer to the political model. Settlement pylons are invulnerable until someone buys a war bond against them, priced by the target's tier. Win, and the city and its treasury change hands. Lose, and half your bond goes to the defender's treasury while the other half is burned. Owners also set a 12-hour daily invulnerability window, so there are no 3 a.m. raids. Full rules are in the sieges & PvP guide.
